Dr. Beth Harper is an attending optometrist at New England College of Optometry (NECO) Clinical Network and Clinical Assistant Professor and the Instructor of Record of Clinical Programs at the New England College of Optometry, NECO. Through her work, she provides care to patients of all ages at Charles River Community Health in Brighton, MA. She has a special interest in the eye health and vision care of children, as well as in the areas of uveitis and glaucoma. Additionally, she provides on-site care for preschool and elementary school children throughout the greater Boston area on the NECO Mobile Eye Clinic.
As Instructor of Record of Clinical Programs at New England College of Optometry, Dr. Harper oversees the clinical grading and progress of students in all Clinical Programs at the College. Dr. Harper serves as a clinical instructor for second, third, and fourth year optometry students.
Dr. Harper graduated from the University of Rochester in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Brain and Cognitive Sciences before continuing on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 2007. She then went on to complete a residency at the VA Boston Healthcare System at Jamaica Plain in 2008. She joined the faculty at the College in 2011.
Dr. Harper is an active member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists (MSO) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). For her work in membership and advocacy for the profession, she was awarded the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists’ Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2012.
